HEADLINE: Philadelphia Area Poker Player Claims One Million Dollar Prize in Aruba Poker Classic Tournament
Body:
While most Philadelphians are undoubtedly ecstatic this week after the Phillies advanced to the NLCS to inch one step closer to the World Series, one Philadelphia area resident has a million other reasons to celebrate after hitting a major homerun of his own. Matt Brady of Havertown, Pennsylvania is $1,000,000 richer after finishing first in the 2008 Aruba Poker Classic.
"For the third time in seven years, we've turned an online poker player into a millionaire," stated Annie Duke, UltimateBet's Cardroom Consultant. "And the best part about it is that it happened in paradise. It doesn't get any better than that."

And the best part about it is that it happened in paradise. It doesn't get any better than that.
The Aruba Poker Classic returned to the Radisson Aruba Resort & Casino for the 7th year in a row. Online poker players were invited to win their way to Aruba for the Texas Hold'em tournament through low-cost satellites on UltimateBet.com.
The Main of Event of the 2008 Aruba Poker Classic featured a field of 551 poker players, up from last year's 548. The Texas Hold'em tournament boasted a $2,755,000 prize pool with $1,000,000 of it guaranteed for first place. Matt Brady took home the top prize after a final head-to-head battle with Sweden's Johan Storakers.
But Brady wasn't the only first place winner this year in Aruba. In addition to the Main Event, UltimateBet added a $2,000 buy-in 2-day event and a $1,000 1-day event to the tournament schedule. Jose Martinez of Venezuela beat out 126 other players in the $2,000 2-day event to secure a first place prize of $78,540 and William Looper of Greer, South Carolina turned a $1,000 buy-in into $21,530 after destroying 87 other players in the $1,000 1-day tournament.
The Aruba Poker Classic, UltimateBet's signature event, took place at the Radisson Aruba Resort & Casino from September 27th through October 4th. The weeklong poker experience featured some of the world's biggest poker pros including Phil Hellmuth and Annie Duke, hundreds of online qualifiers and a list of A-list Hollywood celebrities that included Don Cheadle.
