Gerber, who is also an avid golfer, says he doesn't play poker online and doesn't play cash games; just tournaments. Since he already owns his own business, he doesn't plan to quit his day job but will use his poker winnings to work on the house he shares with his wife and kids.

The US Poker Championship has been held since 1996 with more than a couple of big name poker players coming out the winners. Daniel Negreanu won the championship in 1999 and Men Nguyen won in 2001; both of these are considered to be two of the world's greatest poker players and both have won numerous poker tournaments. One of the perks of this tournament is that players are able to choose their game from among the following: Omaha Hi/Lo, Seven Card Stud, and/or Seven Card Stud Hi/Lo.
