HEADLINE: Poker Is Everywhere
Body:
So it turns out that I am enjoying a lovely family cruise
in the Caribbean. Our first stop is Turks and Caicos Islands.
For those of you who are not familiar with these islands, they
are an English colony located at the end of the Bahamas about
an hour from Miami. The islands are right out of National Geographic
with classical blue green waters and miles of white pristine beaches.
The area is growing geometrically but still has a very long ways
to go. Provo, the familiar local name for Providenciales, the
biggest island, does not have a theater yet, let alone a real
hotel. There are plenty of condos and hundreds more being built,
as well as an adults-only Club Med with some of the best snorkeling
in the world. On top of that, allegedly it often has a 2-to-1
women-to-men guest ratio.
What does this have to do with poker?
Many of us recently have had the pleasure to play
poker with Rhynie Campbell. He is a big black man who has
been bitten by the poker bug and will be seen on the circuit more
and more often.
He seems to own half of the area, including the casino. Rhynie
is committed to put on world-class poker
tournaments and will do what is necessary to attract the right
crowd.
Stay tuned for more information about poker in Turks and Caicos,
where we are surrounded by fabulous hospitality at a very appealing
venue.
