Absolute
Poker Hosts a $100,000 Tournament This Weekend
Body:
Absolute Poker (http://www.AbsolutePoker.com)
one of the world's largest online
poker sites, has announced that this Saturday's $150 entry
tournaments will now have a guaranteed prize pool of at lease
$100,000. This is the largest tournament that the site has hosted
to date, and will award the first place finisher a minimum prize
of $25,000. The tournament format is No Limit Texas Holdem, the
same game that is played in the annual World Series of Poker.
"We are very excited to be offering this large a prize pool
to our members," said Gian Perroni, poker room manager for
Absolute Poker. "We have been adding $10,000 every week to
this tournaments' prize pool, a practice that we will resume in
the New Year, and we will soon see this tournament offering more
than a quarter of a million dollars. This adds nicely to our current
other guaranteed tournaments that total close to a million dollars
every month."
The tournament begins at 4:30 p.m. EST, Saturday, December 17,
and Absolute Poker is running satellite tournaments for entry
into this event several times every day. Players can win entry
into the main, $100,000 event for as little as $3 by placing among
the top finishers in these satellites. The main event will be
limited to the first 2,000 entrants. The same tournament for a
minimum $100,000 will be held on each subsequent Saturday at the
same time.
