Body:
HollywoodPoker.com (http://www.hollywoodpoker.com),
where the stars come to play, was happy to lend a helping hand
on Saturday, December 3, 2005 for the first installment of the
"Charity Poker Gone MADD Tournament Series," organized
by Exit 131 Productions and Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD)
at the Bicycle Casino. More than 170 players participated in the
first installment of the series, generating a prize pool of $69,000.
Hollywood
Poker star Vince Van Patten said, "As one of the faces
of Hollywood Poker, I feel very proud to be involved in this event
knowing that it will benefit a great cause. This is the second
time in just a few months that we took some serious strides toward
making a positive difference."
This is the first of ten "Charity Poker Gone MADD"
events taking place around the United States with Hollywood Poker
and Exit 131 Productions. Ten percent of the participants' buy-in
entry and re-buy for the events goes to MADD to further its mission
to stop drunk driving, support victims of this violent crime and
to prevent underage drinking. The filmmaker of the movie Exit
131 will produce and promote the project in hopes of achieving
charitable donations, corporate sponsorships and proceeds from
charity driven events in order to support the project (due in
2006) and MADD's mission.
