HEADLINE: Dream Team Poker Event Added to 2009 WSOP Schedule

Thanks to its exploding popularity, a Dream Team Poker event has been added to the schedule for the 2009 WSOP. Scheduled to take place at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino July 12-13, the event won't award a WSOP bracelet to the winner but will give those who bust out of the Main Event a chance to play a little more poker and have some more fun in Vegas this summer.

"After seeing the terrific response to the recent Dream Team Poker tournaments in Las Vegas, we thought a team-based event would be a fun addition to the end of the WSOP," said Jeffrey Pollack, WSOP commissioner. "The Dream Team Poker event is one of the many new elements added in 2009 that will help make this summer a memorable one for all WSOP players and fans."

The buy-in for the event is $560 per player, or $1,680 per team and the first 300 teams to register will receive personalized jerseys. The very first Dream Team Poker event was held in November 2008 and was won by Team Bluff Magazine, featuring Bodog Poker pro Justin Bonomo along with Bluff Magazine editors Eric Morris and Matthew Parvis. The next event was held in March of this year and was captured by Team Aced, led by Jamie Gold.

“The WSOP and the Rio have really shown their commitment to the players in continuing to innovate and try new concepts,” said Daniel Delshad, CEO of Dream Team Gaming. “Bringing our brand to the Rio during the WSOP and onto the most hollowed ground in the sport is a powerful way to introduce Dream Team Poker to the world.”
