HEADLINE: Borgata Poker Open Final Table is
Under Way
Body:
The WPT's Borgata Poker Open will wrap up this evening, and Bluff
Magazine will bring you updates on all the action throughout the
day. The tournament began on Friday with 540 players, including
many of the world's best - one of whom is still alive in the hunt
for the $1.5 million + first prize.
David Sklansky, author of The Theory of Poker, considered by
many to be one of the greatest poker
books ever written, has made his way to the final table. Sklansky
(pictured) hasn't won a major tournament since he captured the
WSOP Main Event in 1983, and if he's going to win this title he
has some serious catching up to do.
Mark Newhouse, a high-stakes online player, comes into this final
table with a massive chip lead over the field, and is the clear
favorite to win after his impressive play over the past few days.
Chris McCormack, who finished 7th at the 2004 World Poker Finals,
comes to the final table in 2nd place; ahead of Chris Bell, 3rd
place finisher at the 2005 Mirage Poker Showdown.
Blaise Ingoglia and Anthony Argila round out the final six, but
find themselves in the same boat as Sklansky, with a significant
chip deficit.
Here are the chipcount and the payouts for the final table.
Chip Counts:
Mark Newhouse 7,025,000
Chris McCormack 3,000,000
Chris Bell 1,260,000
Blaise Ingoglia 840,000
Anthony Argila 700,000
David Sklansky 665,000
