How to Get Poker into the Olympics

World-renowned poker players and casino owners from United States,
particularly in Las Vegas, will attend the 1st Pagcor World Celebrity
Poker tournament at the main theater of Casino Filipino on Feb.
22 starting at 6 p.m.
The tournament will be hosted by Poker godfather Jack Binion,
the man behind the 2005 World Series of Poker held last year in
Las Vegas where some 6,000 players participated.
Participants led by Doyle Brunson, poker's living legend, his
son Todd and 10 other world champions are coming. Cash game follows
at 10 p.m. dubbed as Challenge the Champions.
The tournament is organized by Col. Wally Sombero, one of the
country's top poker players.
Poker is now considered a mind sport in the United States.
Sombero said the event last year in Las Vegas was participated
in by almost 6,000 players. The local series, the first of its
kind, is seen to boost the country's tourism industry with its
multiplier effect.
