HEADLINE: CryptoLogic profits from online gamble

   Gambling software firm CryptoLogic says its third-quarter profit rose to $2.9 million US, from $2.2 million US a year earlier, as fees from online poker increased sharply.

   The Toronto-based firm also boosted its quarterly dividend yesterday to five cents US per share. Earnings for the quarter ended Sept. 30 amounted to 21 cents a share, compared with 17 cents per share in the year-ago quarter.
